Chocolate Baroque: Falling Leaves

Good morning, friends! The leaves are falling, the air is cooler and the days are getting shorter... hellooooo Autumn!

And to celebrate this beautiful time of the year, I've created an art journal page with a seasonal theme. Just so you know how wonderfully versatile Chocolate Baroque stamps are, I'm featuring a stamp not usually associated with autumn: the Flora Musica rose.

Every year I am enthralled by the sights and smells of autumn: rich, warm, mellow. So how do I get some of these onto an art journal? As always I started by prepping the page with Faber Castell White Gesso. When completely dry I applied these Folk Art Acrylic Paints with a baby wipe.
417 Teddy Bear Brown, 433 Terra Cotta, 951 Apple Spice, 920 Autumn Leaves, 225 Pumpkin, 431 French Vanilla, 724 Evergreen, 726 Green Meadow and 923 Clover.

Next, I used Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Leaves dies to cut the foliage out of gold tissue paper. I stuck them own with Ranger Multi Medium Matte, creating layers for texture and dimension. The tissue paper leaves captures the look and feel of dry leaves.

The focal image on the page is Flora Musica. I stamped t directly onto the background using Plum Ranger Archival Ink and I've coloured the leaves with Faber Castell P.olychromos. I stamped the image again with Memento Tuxedo Black, coloured the flowers with Copics, fussy cut and adhered them to the image.

And finally, the letters for the quote are cut out of black CS using WRMK Alphabet dies

And here is my autumn inspired art journal page:

That's all from me today. I've been so very busy this fortnight and I haven't actually had the time to craft for leisure. I'm glad for these DT projects because they remind me to slow down and take pleasure in getting inky. Thank you so much for stopping by and have an amazing Monday.

ATSM #260: Photo Inspiration

Hello again, friends! Time for another challenge over at Addicted To Stamps and More. This week the theme is Photo Inspiration. All you have to do is create a project inspired by this lovely photo. You can pick the colours, elements, textures etc. There's no right or wrong answer.

For my card, I decided to go with the colours and butterflies. The stamps used for this project are by Clearly Besotted. Grey for the background and Archival Ink Olive Green for the sentiment. I heat embossed the butterflies with Holographic Silver EP, die cut and adhered them to the card. To add interest to the grey background and used a Chevron die by WRMK and layered it with a piece of cream card. To finish the card - a few droplets of Silver Liquid Pearls.

Now it's your turn to link up your project for the Photo Inspiration challenge. Don't forget to let us know what elements from the photo inspired you.

Thanks for stopping by and have fun with this challenge.

Tuesday Throwdown #360: Happy Birthday!

Good morning, friends! Time for another new challenge over at Tuesday Throwdown. This week we have an easy theme for you: "Happy Birthday!". Our sponsor for this challenge is Power Poppy by Marcela Hawley and she has lots of truly elegant stamps in her online store. You should check it out.

I made a simple card using the image and sentiment from Tulips In Hobnail Pitcher. I've kept it super simple because I did not want anything to distract me from Marcela's stunning image. Clear sequins, little Nuvo droplets and some twine are all the fussing this card needs.

Here's a closer look at the tulips. I coloured these with Faber Castell Polychromos. Just look at the delicate lines of the tulips!

Now it's your turn to create a project based on this week's theme: "Happy Birthday!". For ideas and inspiration, take a peek at what the rest of the DT members have made. Remember to link up your project at the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge Blog by 3pm Pacific / 11pm UK on Monday, September 18th. And the most important requirement: Have Fun!

Thank you so much for stopping by and have an amazing day!

Chocolate Baroque: Floral Birthday

Good morning, friends! My turn to show you what you can do with Chocolate Baroque's lovely floral singles. Today's card features the gorgeous Crackling Rose. If you enjoy taking time out to indulge in a little therapeutic colouring, then this is the stamp for you.

I started by stamping the rose image using Archival Shadow Gray ink for that no-line look. The sentiment is from the Birthday Words A5 sheet, stamped with Archival Jet Black ink. I also added a few drops of Nuvo Crystal Drops Duck Egg.

To colour the image I used by beloved Faber Castell Polychromos. Now, the cracking background - that reminds me of a stained glass window or broken mosaic. But before I could decide, I started colouring. It'll work either way!And of course, the card just wouldn't be complete without a couple of coats of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter. Don't judge! :)

So there you have it, a lovely little floral birthday wish for a special friend. I've made another floral card. Meet me same time, same place tomorrow! Until then, thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Beijinhos.
