Christmas Card Club #10: Poinsettia

Two Christmas cards in a row! My festive stash is growing. At this rate I can start mailing my cards in August ... or is that too soon?

Back in the Christmas Card Clubhouse, we have Karen B of Serendipity Dragonfly wielding the challenge whip. Her theme of choice: Poinsettias.  (Can't think of another plant that is synonymous with Christmas, can you?) Here's my card:

A 5" square card with the Poinsettia paper from  Hollie Hobbie's Christmas Collection.
The ornament is some plain green CS cut with SB's 2010 Heirloom Ornaments and
Ivy Green Liquid Pearls. Other embellishments: red sheer ribbon and tiny green bling.
The greeting is from Clearly Besotted's Pretty Poinsettia, stamped with VersaFine
Olympia Green directly onto the patterned paper.

The white poinsettia is heat embossed on vellum and held in place by a gold brad.
I made 3 layers, 2 in vellum and the bottom layer in red. The stamp is from
Clearly Besotted's Pretty Poinsettia

The sentiment and greeting are also from the Pretty Poinsettia set.

Sending my Christmas foliage over to these challenges:

CHNC Extra May: AG Christmas
CHNC #175: Something Beginning With B - bling, bow, bauble
Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge: May
Christmas Card Challenges #23: No embellishments / AG Christmas - definitely AG
Completely Christmas #10: AG Christmas

  6. Now here's the thing Asha, you may "think" poinsettias are just for Christmas but I bought one in a local supermarket on Christmas Eve with a guarantee that it would last 6 days and lo and behold it's still blooming on my dining room table...how about that then!!?. Yours is just as lovely I might add and your stitching always amazes me!!
